Erving Elementary School Erving, Massachusetts
Dore & Whittier was retained by the Regional School Union to provide Owner's Project Management (OPM) services for the $5.5M renovation and addition for this 200 student, grade PK–6 school. Dore & Whittier was also the architect on this project. (Prior to 2005, Massachusetts General Laws allowed such a scenario.) This was a phased renovation project that was carefully planned so as to not disrupt ongoing educational operations. Once completed, the school's 47,000 square feet included a separate cafeteria and gymnasium that replaced a single multi use space. New Pre-K classrooms were added and all the infrastructure systems and building finishes were comprehensively renovated. The project was completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
