Ayer Shirley Middle High School Ayer, Massachusetts

Dore & Whittier was hired by the Ayer Shirley Regional School District to represent the owner during the feasibility study and schematic design phase of the project. The newly formed District is committed to educational excellence and to provide enhanced educational experience to its students. The aging Middle High school facility is seen as an obstacle to this goal. The existing structure was constructed in the early 1960’s as part of an educational campus. Despite a solid structure and a strong commitment to maintenance of the building, building systems have deteriorated with age and were not built to meet the demands of a technologically advancing educational world. The study and schematic design phase of this project will look at renovating the aging facility and researching and determining the need for any additions to the building. The goal is to develop a solution that meets the current and future educational programming needs and community use.
